What is a Breast Augmentation with Lift?
Over time, a woman’s breasts can begin to droop, losing their youthful firmness and shape. A breast augmentation with a breast lift can help patients to achieve enhanced breasts that are also perkier and more youthful. By combining these two procedures, patients can cut down on the number of surgeries and recovery time in order to achieve the aesthetic look they desire.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Breast Augmentation with Lift?
Anyone whose breasts have lost volume shape, or firmness due to aging, pregnancy, or weight fluctuations can benefit from a breast augmentation with lift. Those who are in good health, have maintained a steady body weight, and have realistic expectations are likely good candidates for this procedure. In order to determine candidacy, contact our office today to schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

Breast Augmentation with Lift Procedure
The breast augmentation with lift procedure incorporates the steps of a breast lift procedure with a breast lift procedure. First, incisions for the breast augmentation will be created to insert the breast implants (saline or silicone). There are a number of incision techniques used for a breast augmentation and lift, including:
The Periareolar Incision
This incision is created around the outer edge of the areola. This technique is often used when a mild to moderate breast lift is performed along with an augmentation.
The Lollipop Incision
Is created around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. This technique is often used for patients with a moderate degree of ptosis or drooping.
The Anchor Incision
This incision is created around the areola and vertically down the breast crease, with an additional incision along the breast crease. This option is often used for breasts with a significant amount of sagging.
The nipple and areola will then be moved higher on the breast, and the breast reshaped to achieve the desired contour. Any excess skin will be trimmed away to create a more defined outcome. Any incisions will be closed with sutures.
Plastic Surgery should be for yourself and no one else. ”
Breast Augmentation with Lift Recovery
Following breast augmentation with lift, bruising, swelling, and discomfort may occur, which should fade over the first two weeks. BE sure to sleep on your back in an inclined position during healing to help reduce swelling. Also, patients should avoid heavy lifting or extensive exercise for up to six weeks. Your plastic surgeon will provide you with special recovery instructions to ensure a quick and safe recovery with optimal results. Any scars resulting from surgery will begin to fade within a few months and will continue to fade for years to come. Please do not hesitate to contact Tucson Plastic Surgery if you have any concerns or questions following your procedure.
FAQ
Is a breast lift covered by insurance?
Elective cosmetic surgeries such as breast lifts are not covered by medical insurance. To help make this procedure more affordable, we offer competitive financing options.
Does a breast lift cost more than implants?
The cost of surgery depends on the type of procedure as well as patient-specific anatomic factors. Depending on the extent and type of surgical plan, a breast lift can cost more than the average breast augmentation surgery.
Do I need a breast lift or just implants?
Women who experience significant volume deflation after pregnancy or weight loss are often bothered by the excess breast skin and low position of their nipples. In these cases, we commonly recommend a breast tightening procedure with a lift. A breast lift procedure is also sometimes combined with a breast implant or fat grafting if the patient desires more breast volume and fullness.
Do you lose sensation with breast lift?
Following breast lift surgery some women may experience temporary loss of sensation to the breast or nipples. Most of these women develop a return of full breast and nipple sensation with time.
Do you still have feeling in your nipples after breast lift?
Yes, its very rare for someone to experience permanent loss in nipple sensitivity after breast lift surgery. Most patients continue to have normal nipple sensation after breast lift surgery.
Does a breast lift leave scars?
A breast lift requires more incisions to remove excess skin, relocate the nipple, and remove or redistribute breast tissue. The good news is that these incisions heal well over time and dramatically improve the overall shape of the breast. We are passionate about implementing scar care early after surgery to help your scars fade quickly.
How do you shower after a breast lift?
It is recommended that you keep your incisions dry for 48 hours after surgery, after that you can safely shower. Our plastic surgeons will provide detailed instructions on caring for your incision sites and any other sensitive areas following your breast lift surgery.
How long do breast lift results last?
While results vary based on the age and lifestyle of the patient, a breast lift generally provides a long-lasting permanent result. Results are most affected by future pregnancy and or dramatic weight changes. For these reasons, we recommend patients considering a breast lift are at a stable weight and not planning a pregnancy soon after their surgery.
How long does it take for breast lift scars to heal?
After breast lift surgery, most patients are able to return to normal activity in 6-8 weeks. However, at this early time point, the scars are still maturing and not yet at their full strength. While the scars look healed, it takes one year for scars to fully mature. For this reason, we recommend scar care to begin early on and continue for as long as one year after surgery to ensure the best final outcome and cosmesis.
How long does vampire breast lift last?
Vampire breast lifts, performed using platelet-rich plasma injections, are not permanent, although some patients experience benefits for up to two years.
