Your doctor will discuss the chin liposuction procedure in depth during a consultation with you before your procedure. Here, you can discuss your medical history, medications, and all stages of the procedure.
Your chin liposuction procedure will start with your surgeon making 3 small incisions in a discreet spot hidden under the chin and behind the ears where a cannula is inserted which sucks away your unwanted fat. The procedure is takes about an hour and is performed under general anesthesia. You will need someone to care for you on the day of surgery.

Your doctor will instruct you to wear a chin wrap to compress the skin, control drainage, and minimize bruising. You should wear the chin wrap continuously for 2-3 weeks after your chin liposuction procedure to help define the jawline and improve the results. After your procedure, you can expect between 10-14 days of bruising, swelling, and tenderness. Your full recovery can take between three to four weeks.
