A Legacy of Service

Dr. Mahabir has dedicated much of his career to global surgical missions, performing life-changing reconstructive procedures while training local surgeons to improve patient outcomes. These experiences not only help individual patients but also strengthen healthcare systems worldwide. His dedication to advancing the field of plastic surgery has been recognized through his induction into the Maliniac Circle, a distinguished group of surgeons who have made significant contributions to surgical research and education.

In 2019, Dr. Mahabir joined the executive board of Check for a Lump, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free breast health education, mammograms, testing, and direct assistance to breast cancer patients. Their work, particularly in serving uninsured and underinsured women, has reinforced our passion for increasing access to essential care.

Supporting the Tucson Community

Since making Tucson our home, we have developed a deep appreciation for the city and the people who make it special. We proudly support Angel Charity, American Heart Association, El Rio Health, Tucson Cancer Conquerors, and Bag It, all of which work to improve the lives of individuals facing health challenges.

Beyond healthcare, we are committed to fostering a strong community. We actively participate in local events like the PICOR Pancake Breakfast and proudly sponsor youth sports teams, including Falcons Lacrosse and the Tanque Verde Cowboys.

We are also strong advocates for advancing education and accessibility in reconstructive surgery. As member surgeons and supporters of Mission Plasticos and the DIEP C Foundation, we contribute to programs that provide life-changing care to breast cancer patients. We recently shared more about this work in a podcast interview with Terri Coutee.

On a national level, we are proud supporters of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and The Aesthetic Society’s ASERF, organizations dedicated to research and innovation in plastic surgery.

Creating Change at Home

While our work has taken us across the globe, we saw a significant need for care right here in Southern Arizona. In 2021, we founded Reblossom, a nonprofit dedicated to providing breast reconstructive surgery for uninsured and underinsured women. Reblossom is more than a surgical program—it’s a source of empowerment, healing, and support for women as they navigate life after breast cancer.

Giving back has always been a core value in our lives and practice. If you share our passion for philanthropy, we would love to connect and explore ways to make a difference together.
