Eyelid surgery, commonly known as blepharoplasty, is customizable to your needs. Men can opt for surgery on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. This surgery can address cosmetic concerns and improve visual function at the same time by removing excess eyelid skin. This treatment can benefit men looking to improve on a tired appearance, undereye bags or dark circles, excess fat causing puffy eyes, drooping lower eyelids, and wrinkles around the eyes.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery can address a myriad of issues. Patients who want to address vision issues caused by excess skin, fatty tissue, or cosmetic concerns can benefit from the procedures. Your procedure will be customized based on your condition, aesthetic goals, and concerns. At Tucson Plastic Surgery, we offer upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or a combination of both procedures.

Upper Eyelid Surgery

During your upper eyelid surgery, an incision will be made in the eyelid’s natural crease. Your surgeon will use this incision to remove the excess skin and fat from the area.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

Lower eyelid surgery involves an incision beneath the lash line or inside the lower eyelid. This is where your surgeon will remove excess fat, tissue, and skin to reduce the look of puffiness under the eyes.

Eyelid Surgery Recovery Process Up To 6 Months

Your eyelid procedure is performed in an outpatient setting and can be performed with IV sedation or general anesthesia to reduce any possible pain or discomfort. Discomfort after your surgery will be very minimal and can be easily soothed with over-the-counter medications. Temporary side effects include but are not limited to bruising, swelling, itchiness, and redness. Doctors recommend elevating your head up to two weeks after surgery to minimize swelling. The results from your procedure will emerge once your swelling has gone down. This can take up to six months, providing long-lasting results of a more awakened appearance.
