When you are choosing a breast augmentation or breast reconstruction, deciding between various implant options is an important part of the process. There are a wide variety of implants available in varying sizes, shapes, and materials suited to the aesthetic preferences or needs that each unique patient may have. During your consultation, your plastic surgeon will help guide you through your options. At Tucson Plastic Surgery, we partner with Allergan Natrelle® Implants to give patients ideal breast augmentation or breast reconstruction results.
Choosing Your Breast Implant Shape
When selecting your Allergan Natrelle® breast implants, you have the choice between round or teardrop shapes as well as the projection of the implants.
Teardrop shape: More closely resembles the natural shape of a breast, with a natural slope at the top and more fullness in the lower portion.
Round shape: Creates an overall fuller look, increasing volume at the top of the breast while still appearing and feeling natural.
Implant Projection Options:
- Low projection: Minimal fullness at the top of the breast for a subtle, natural look.
- Low Plus projection: Full look with a slightly rounded appearance at the top.
- Moderate projection: Fuller with a rounded top.
- Full projection: Fuller overall with a noticeably round top.
- Extra Full projection: Very full and rounded top for more dramatic results.
Once your preferred shape and projection are selected, you’ll also choose the implant volume (measured in cc’s). Your surgeon will help determine the best volume for your body proportions and aesthetic goals.
